As a Network Operation Engineer you will:
  • Staff the CFBLNet Network Operation Centre Service Desk during business hours and CFBLNet schedule initiative hours ensuring initial response times of 15 minutes during scheduled initiatives and 30 minutes during business hours.
  • Support the rollout and maintenance of NATO CFBLNet sites and participate in developing and operating the CFBLNet for NATO and related reference systems.
  • Assist with bug fixing and stability improvements creating and updating documentation.
  • Investigate and document the best solutions to problems presenting their pros and cons to the team.
  • Work at CFBLNet facilities and occasionally at other NATO CFBLNet locations operating within a Kanban team structure with cycles planned and reviewed monthly.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Over 3 years of experience working in an IT Customer Support Centre.
  • Excellent working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including Ethernet LAN WAN and Security.
  • Ethernet: Excellent understanding of VLANs and Spanning Tree.
  • LAN: Excellent understanding of DHCP NAT OSPF HSRP/VRRP and HA technologies.
  • WAN: Excellent understanding of Metro Ethernet MPLS BGP and QoS.
  • Multicast: Experience troubleshooting Multicast in WANLAN.
  • Security: Strong understanding of policybased firewalls content filtering Intrusion Prevention Systems network monitoring systems IPSEC and PKI.
  • Strong working knowledge of Infrastructure including virtualization Cisco equipment and VMWare ESX.
  • Good working knowledge of system administration on Windows and/or Linux.
  • Relevant Cisco VMWare or ITIL Foundation certification (desired).
  • Practical skills in writing scripts to support repetitive tasks automation (Terraform Bash Python or Ansible).
  • Current knowledge of DevOps principles.
  • Familiarity with VMWare NSXT.
  • Experience working with softwaredefined networking solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure of Azure and/or AWS.
You should possess the ability to:
  • Analyze logs and diagnose network issues.
  • Handle multiple incidents simultaneously while adapting to constantly changing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise technical documentation including procedures.
  • Work autonomously and proactively while following internal processes.
  • Communicate effectively both spoken and written in English.
  • Collaborate effectively in a multinational and diverse team sharing knowledge and helping others.
