Senior Mainframe Support

The Role

• Provide L2 support to production systems like application database middleware components
  
• Manage productions incidents endtoend within defined SLAs with focus on resolution rather than who caused it.
  
• Interact with various stake holders such as Release managers program leads service managers development and test leads
  
• Review operational readiness requirements such as monitoring and alerting log rotation and resilience of the components and report the gaps
  
• Provide preimplementation support with activities such as release notes review and implementation dry runs.
  
• Automate daytoday activities and propose changes that improve reliability
  
• Practice incident management best practices and perform RCA.
  
• Work with team members spread across and time zones
  
• Share knowledge document improvements and mentor junior resources
  
• Support deployments of code into multiple lower environments. Supporting current processes needed with an emphasis on automating everything as soon as possible.
  
• COBOL developer experience
  
• Extensive experience with COBOL development in a batch mainframe environment
  
• Experience working with IBM Job Control Language including use of GDG datasets.
  
• Experience working in a mainframe TSO ISPF environment.
  
• Proven technical skills are necessary to learn the mainframe batch quickly environment and assume the role and independently support assigned application.
  

Requirements

• COBOL developer experience
  
• Extensive experience with COBOL development in a batch mainframe environment
  
• Experience working with IBM Job Control Language including use of GDG datasets.
  
• Experience working in a mainframe TSO ISPF environment.
  
• Proven technical skills necessary to learn the mainframe batch quickly environment and assume the role and independently support assigned application
  

Basic Knowledge on

• Experience with mainframe scheduling software preferably OPC.
  
• Experience using Endeavor change management software
  
• Experience developing and supporting programs written in Easytrieve.
  
• Experience using Connect Direct for file transfers.
