Job Overview: We are seeking a talented midsenior level patent litigation associate to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group. This position can be based in any one of our offices or can be fully remote. Our team works closely with clients to navigate changing patent laws and judicial decisions helping them protect their intellectual property and leverage technologies of the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and respond to pleadings.
  • Prepare infringement and invalidity claim charts.
  • Participate in Markman and claim construction proceedings.
  • Handle patentspecific fact and expert discovery.
  • Engage in inter partes reviews and overall litigation strategy.
  • Draft pleadings motions memoranda and correspondence for use in state and federal court arbitration and mediation proceedings.
  • Draft and respond to complex discovery requests.
  • Confer negotiate and communicate with opposing counsel.
  • Prepare for defend and conduct depositions.
  • Prepare for trial including exhibit lists evidentiary objections motions in limine and witness preparation.
  • Prepare Federal Circuit appeal briefs.
  • Supervise and train junior associates.

Qualifications:

  • At least six to eight years of patent litigation experience.
  • Significant experience with drafting and responding to pleadings preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts Markman and claim construction proceedings patentspecific fact and expert discovery inter partes reviews and overall litigation strategy.
  • Patent trial experience is a plus.
  • USPTO admission is highly desired.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or substantial experience litigating matters in these or similar disciplines is highly desired.
  • Strong academic credentials superb judgment and communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent client services.

Salary: The anticipated annual salary ranges for this position depending on location are as follows:

  • Providence RI: $200000 to $220000
  • Los Angeles CA: $325000 to $350000
  • San Francisco CA: $325000 to $350000
  • Albany NY: $200000 to $220000
  • Long Island NY: $240000 to $265000
  • New York NY: $325000 to $350000
  • Rochester NY: $200000 to $220000

In addition to a standard benefits package this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on factors such as work performance geographic location work experience education and qualifications.
