Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Roundtables (SR) Lead is pivotal to SFPs mission of enhancing Indonesian snapper/grouper and global mahi mahi fisheries. This role focuses on managing supply chain roundtables (SRs) which are voluntary collectives of seafood companies committed to improving their sourcing fisheries. The SR Lead will define and implement SR strategies handle administrative tasks convene seafood companies and provide actionable insights to SR participants. This position is integral to driving collaboration and sustainable practices within the seafood industry.
Key Responsibilities/Activities:
Supply Chain Roundtable leadership and coordination
Provide leadership to assigned SR(s):
Build and maintain relationships with industry participants.
Contribute to developing and implementing a global strategy for increasing the sustainability of fisheries.
Support the administrative aspects of operating roundtables including communications reporting and evaluation.
Support the development team with identifying grant or sponsorship prospects manage budgets of assigned special projects ensure objectives and deliverables are met and report grantrelated work.
Generate income from SR participant companies.
Drive improvements to move toward and achieve strategic goals:
Maintain routine communication and gather intel from field teams (internal and external) science/analysis teams supply chain and retailers/market (SFP partners and external).
Research fisheries of interest.
Engage and educate SR participants to facilitate supply chain improvement activities.
Guide the SRs in sending requests for specific improvements to the field team producers FIPs processors national governments regional fishery management organizations and/or others.
Coordinate with the markets team to organise retailer/market leverage to support SRs in making requests.
Leverage internal resources to assist in driving improvements.
Strategically recruit new participants to Supply Chain Roundtables
Development of food service engagement strategy
Create a landscape analysis of food service companies dealing with seafood (e.g. distributors national or regional restaurant chains).
Coordinate with SR leads to develop a priority list of food service companies for engagement.
Lead development of a strategy for engaging with companies on the priority list and coordinate refinement of that strategy with an internal SFP working group.
Initiate engagement with priority food services companies to demonstrate proof of concept.
Coordinate with the development team to identify grant or sponsorship projects for funding the food service engagement strategy.
General strategy and miscellaneous tasks
Assist with developing strategies for biodiversity markets industry leadership and smallscale fisheries through the respective matrix teams.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
5 years of experience in the seafood industry or marine conservation preferred
Understanding of seafood sustainability issues global seafood markets and smallscale fisheries
Excellent communication skills in English (speaking reading and writing)
Excellent organizational and negotiation skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality
Personal qualities of honesty and integrity and a commitment to conservation
Flexibility to effectively balance independent initiative with team collaboration
Ability to work within a framework of responsibilities objectives and deadlines without (or with limited) inperson supervision
Ability to work comfortably and effectively in a fully online environment
Strong knowledge of productivity software and/or platforms (i.e. Google Suite Microsoft Word Excel and common business communication tools) ability to learn and adapt to new technology with ease
Global cultural awareness to work and communicate with diverse colleagues and seafood industry representatives
Scheduling flexibility to facilitate interactions with globally dispersed colleagues
Additional/Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of seafood production in Indonesia/Latin America familiarity with Indonesian/Latin American stakeholders in the seafood industry and/or marine conservation
Knowledge of food service industry landscape primarily in the United States
Verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesian or Spanish
Familiarity with Salesforce
Note: Nothing in this Position Description restricts the Organizations ability to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this Position at any time.
Compensation: This is an exempt position with a salary range of $75000 $85000 annually.
Comprehensive benefits suite includes (but not limited to):
SFP covers 90% of employees medical premiums and 80% of dependents
$50 stipend per paycheck if medical insurance is not elected
Monthly internet reimbursement of up to $50
Paid Time off includes:
