Job Description

Finance Assistant
Maidstone
24500 + bens

We are working with a well-established, friendly business based in Maidstone.

Due to growth, they are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team full-time and permanently.

Finance Assistant responsibilities will include:

Sorting invoices into categories for priority and ease of processing
Check invoices from suppliers to ensure prices and items charged are correct
Find out where all ordered items have ended up (fitted/faulty/returned)
Record invoice details on the internal system
Email & phone suppliers/engineers/office staff with invoice queries & respond to those as needed
Put all queried invoices in dispute on Sage to prevent payment before the query is resolved & remove them from dispute once the query is resolved to clear it for payment
Update the status of the invoice once processed (cleared for payment / queried) to keep track of the invoice
Chase invoice queries monthly
Respond to office and supplier questions related to invoices
Chase credits for items that have been returned and record credits on the internal system
Update reports for returns, latest updates on invoice queries and credit chasing
Ensure invoices are processed promptly before payment is due

The ideal candidate will have previous finance/accounts experience in a similar role. Be able to work in a fast-paced, busy team. Have excellent attention to detail and experience using Excel.

Hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, alternatively, they can offer 9am-6pm or 7am-4pm.
