You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSenior Legal Specialist - Information Technology About the role The role will be part of the IT Legal team and responsible to review, analyse, draft and negotiate IT contracts in conjunction with User and Sponsor departments to protect the interests of, and meet the business requirements of, Qatar Airways Group. To provide accurate and business-oriented legal advice to Qatar Airways and its subsidiaries. To act as Group Legal point of contact for assisting with relationship management of selected User department(s). Your main responsibilities will include: • Acting as a main contact point within Group Legal for all technology related matters for the QR Group. • Negotiating, drafting and implementing a wide variety of simple and more complex technology vendor agreements in connection with the procurement of IT systems and equipment for the QR Group (SaaS, software licenses, hardware / infrastructure, e-commerce, POC, NDA etc.). • Managing strategic IT contracts and projects (including AI related) in accordance with corporate governance requirements, supporting legal requirements and procedures to secure and protect the business interests of the company. • Working closely with Procurement, Cybersecurity and the Data Protection Office and other Departments across the QR Group. • Working closely with clients across the QR Group, becoming their trusted legal and business advisor. • Developing and implementing suggestions to contract templates, policies and procedures for revision and improvement as may be required. • Providing high quality review, analysis, negotiation and drafting of contracts. • Identifying issues and determining when the escalation procedure should be started. • Resolving any disputes which may come up and identifying areas for improvement in company’s contracting processes. • Providing legal interpretations on contract terms and legal advice on other matters. • Performing other Department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department or Line Manager. Qualifications About you • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience. • Must be qualified as a lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction. • Must have work experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment. • Qualified in a common law jurisdiction. • Experience of a multi-cultural environment in contracts management and legal. • Have worked in a medium or large sized matrixed/cross-functional environment.
