Job Skill -

• Trim Work : This involves installing trim, such as baseboards, crown molding, window and door casings, chair rails, and wainscoting. Trim work requires precise measurements and cutting angles to ensure a seamless finish.
• Cabinetry : Finishing carpenters may install pre-made or custom cabinets in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas. They are responsible for ensuring proper alignment, fitting, and installation of cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware.
• Flooring : While not always included in the scope of finishing carpentry, some may also install various types of flooring, including hardwood, laminate, tile, and vinyl. This can involve subfloor preparation, laying the flooring material, and adding finishing touches like baseboards or transitions.
• Stairs and Railings : Finishing carpenters may construct and install staircases, balustrades, and handrails. This requires precise measurements and craftsmanship to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal.
• Custom Woodworking : Some finishing carpenters specialize in crafting custom woodwork, such as built-in shelving, mantels, or decorative features like coffered ceilings or wall paneling.
• Door Installation : Installing interior and exterior doors, including framing, hanging, and hardware installation, is another common task for finishing carpenters.
• Repairs and Restorations : Finishing carpenters may also be tasked with repairing or restoring existing woodwork, such as replacing damaged trim or repairing rotted sections of wood.
