Job Description

We have a new opportunity for a Static Equipment Lead on a contract basis (minumum 3 year duration) with a major Oil and Gas client. The position will be on a residential basis in Doha, Qatar. Job Title: Static Equipment/Mechanical Lead Job Purpose: • Lead the Static Equipment/mechanical activities for the Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardized processes. Provide design support to the Offshore Engineering Manager, ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards. Key Accountabilities: • Ensure that the Contractor's Static Equipment for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) Engineering complies with the Contract requirements, including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance. • Plan and schedule the Static Equipment engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with operational policies, standards of business conduct, and project management system. • Participate in key design workshops, including HAZOP and 3D model reviews. • Support the Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring the contractor's progress on the delivery of the required Static Equipment documents for Topsides and Pipeline disciplines. • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect to the disciplines involved in the delivery of the Static Equipment related to Topsides and ensure endorsement of Process Technical deviations to Company specifications when required. • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractor's design or deviations from company directives. Reporting and Relationships: • Reports to: Offshore Head Mechanical Engineering • Internal: Major Projects Department • External: Other Engineering Departments and their SMEs Job Context & Major Challenge(s): • Provide extensive knowledge and understanding of ECPI requirements, efficiently translating Company requirements and data into efficient delivery from the contractor. Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Structural, Electrical, Piping, Instrumentation, HSSE, and Risk), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the work scope. Candidate Specification - Minimum Requirements Technical and Business Skills: • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT. • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English. • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications. • Good knowledge of electrical, instrument, telecom, piping, and mechanical equipment. Qualifications: • Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent. Relevant work experience may substitute for any qualification, technical, or knowledge requirements. Knowledge and/or Experience: • Relevant experience as a Static Equipment lead in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry, with a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations. • Previous knowledge of Brownfield engineering and execution required
