Job Description

Job Purpose/Summary:

To provide Project Risk Management, Change Control and Planning/scheduling expertise in the Projects Management department; to develop and implement Project Risk Management and Change Control processes, systems and tools; to support Projects with probabilistic risk assessments of cost and schedule estimates; and to lead the risk management process for the project portfolio. In addition, provide hands on project planning/scheduling support as and when required.

Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Set up the company processes, systems and tools required for effective Project Risk Management for all projects under VP PM responsibility
  • Support the Projects with effective Risk Management implementation by facilitating regular Risk Management workshops, providing independent risk knowledge input and capturing risks severity, likelihood, and risk control measures, utilising the company selected Risk Management tool (@Risk)
  • Coordinate monthly Project Risk Management Review meetings with project/executive leadership teams and track and drive close out of leadership team follow up actions
  • Carry out probabilistic risk analysis of cost and schedule estimates to establish P50 and P90 outcomes in order to define appropriate levels of contingencies.
  • Train and coach project managers/leaders in Risk Management and train PC staff in carrying out probabilistic cost and schedule risk assessments
  • Establish and implement a rigorous Change Control process for project delivery.
  • Support the projects with maintaining the project change control registers
  • Set up and maintain a BU Project Portfolio Lessons Learned (Knowledge) Database
  • Provide hands-on planning/scheduling expertise and support to project teams, as and when required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A B.Sc. degree in Project Management or Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years' experience in different project control functions on major ($400mln +) Oil & Gas projects.

Fully versed with Planning principles and techniques and hands-on use of Primavera P6.

Fully versed with Risk Management and Analysis principles, techniques and industry standard tools, such as EasyRisk, Pertmaster and @Risk

  • Deep knowledge of cost estimating principles on capital projects
  • Highly skilled in running probabilistic Risk analysis of Cost and schedule estimates
  • Experience with leading or participating in Continuous Improvement techniques and processes (e.g Kaizen, Lean, Agile)
  • Experience with presenting to executive management
  • Experience with conducting independent cost & schedule estimate assurance and benchmarking
  • Working experience in the Middle East is an advantage
