Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
Type: Hybrid (onsite 2x days per week the other 3 remote)

Job Description
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the deployment maintenance performance integrity and security of the Oracle database platform on behalf of the applications relying on it. The candidate will assist Software Reliability Engineers on all aspects relating to Oracle operations. They partner closely with System Engineering colleagues regarding Linuxrelated activities as well as Research & Development and Product Management counterparts to offer the best possible database experience & performance.
In this role youll:
Plan & deploy database clusters supporting multiterabyte workloads with a strong emphasis on high availability and faulttolerance (including multisite high availability whenever required). Ensure that storage archiving as well as backup & recovery procedures are operating correctly including in disaster recovery situations. Maintain & upgrade database clusters to comply with appropriate patch level kernel patching and security standards (PCIDSS / SOC / ISO27K compliance and vulnerability remediation). Monitor performances and manage database parameters tuning to provide bestofclass experience. Investigate operational incidents debug problems and provide recovery solutions in 24x7 operational conditions. Operate databases onpremises as well as on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. Contribute with colleagues to the oncall roster. Write and maintain database documentation platform specifications and procedural descriptions. Work closely with database development & product management team for continuous improvement of the Oracle automation & ecosystem based on operational returnofexperience.
About the Ideal Candidate:
- 5 years managing Oracle database technologies (19c 23c) in a critical highly available enterprise environment (24x7).
- Experience in working with Linux platforms.
- Experience with database automation (Ansible Python Shell etc.).
- Microsoft Azure experience or certification would be a plus.
- Knowledge of other database technologies such as MySQL (8.0) MariaDB (10.x) and/or Microsoft SQL Server (2016) would be a plus.
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
- A certification regarding relational database(s) and / or programming would be a plus.
- Core technology skills with handson exposure with the latest Oracle (19c 23c) engine versions and features. Operational exposure to another database technology such as MySQL (8.0) MariaDB (10.x) and/or Microsoft SQL Server (2016) would be a plus.
- Experience with Oracle database upgrades and data migration techniques (Dataguard Golden Gate Datapump etc.).
- Field experience in supporting critical production workloads.
- Advanced hardware operating system (Linux) & storage knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or another public Cloud provider would be a plus.
- Automation & scripting skills (Ansible Python shell etc.).
- Knowledge of release management processes and tools such as Git.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with other DBaaS team members as well as to work independently.
- Proactive mindset in mitigating/avoiding foreseeable issues.
- Ability to work in multinational and multicultural environments.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban SAFe) would be a plus.
- Fluency in English required both in written and verbal communication
