Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities of the role) • Review and correct daily revenue journal • Controls all balance sheet accounts by preparation of monthly account reconciliations and actions accordingly • Monitor house banks and investments • Analyze and investigate cashiers’ overs and shorts • Code and input manual cheques • Investigate and input bank statement data • Prepare bank reconciliations such as agency imp rest and replacement reserve • Review accounts payable monthly inventory reconciliations • Review accounts payable purchase journal • Review travel agency commission payments • Maintain replacement reserve cash book • Review and prepare input in the general ledge from various sources • Review food and beverage control reconciliations and journal • Review accounts payable/ inventory interface • Prepare month end journals • Prepare balance sheet record and identify and reconcile all items therein • Audit payroll and payment. • Prepares monthly Financial Statements for distribution to Department Heads and Executives, as directed by Finance Manager • Responsible for month-end back-office computer closing • Approves various city ledger transactions before posting • Prepares asset purchase/disposal report for owners • Approves payment requests, employee advances and petty cash prior to payment • Assists Manager of Finance and Assistant in budget preparation and input, forecast reports and monthly reporting to corporate finance • Supervises Accounts department in the absence of the Assistant Finance Manager • Reports directly to and communicates with the Assistant Manager of Finance and Finance Manager on all matters pertaining to accounting and financial controls • Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with other departments in matters concerning accounting related matters and internal control • Interacts, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including hotel’s bank, tax auditors and other hotels and IHG corporate offices
