Job Description

Overview

The Ophthalmologist Consultant for OPD plays a crucial role in providing specialized eye care to patients in the outpatient department. They are responsible for diagnosing treating and managing a wide range of ophthalmic conditions ensuring the delivery of highquality medical services to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat various ophthalmic conditions such as cataracts glaucoma and refractive errors.
  • Perform surgical procedures including cataract surgery and laser eye surgery.
  • Prescribe medications and provide postoperative care to patients.
  • Educate patients about eye health preventive care and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Stay updated with the latest advances in ophthalmology and incorporate best practices into clinical care.
  • Ensure compliance with medical ethics and legal regulations.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and training programs.
  • Contribute to clinical research and publications in the field of ophthalmology.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of residency training in ophthalmology.
  • Board certification in ophthalmology.
  • Licenses to practice medicine and ophthalmology in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience as an ophthalmologist with expertise in diagnosing and treating ophthalmic conditions.
  • Proficiency in ophthalmic surgical procedures such as cataract surgery and refractive surgery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced clinical environment.
