Plan Approval Gas Carrier

We are looking to hire a Gas Carrier Plan Approval Class Lead to join our team of experts in a dynamic and growing company that is driving the energy transition. What you will be doing. This role will be based in Doha for the duration of the project and will require some travel to South Korea. • Serve as the Class Lead for the plan approval of a new class of IGC-compliant gas carriers. Interface with the charterer/shipowner, the nominated shipyard, Class Society, the newbuild site supervision team, and our internal discipline leads / discipline engineers for plan review on behalf of the charterer/shipowner of a new class of IGC-compliant gas carriers. • Lead and coordinate the plan review process for gas carriers such as LNGCs and VLGCs, manage and coordinate review activities by our discipline leads and plan review engineers, also managing the consumption of the approved budget of man-hours for plan review activities • Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders through all stages of the design process • Take an active role in the evaluation and approval of designs, plans, drawings, and technical specifications for compliance with the newbuild specification and associated rules, regulations, and guidelines • Participate in risk assessment activities related to the design of the subject class of gas carriers • Identify and address potential design issues, recommending improvements and solutions. • Ensure that all design changes and updates are thoroughly reviewed and documented, and support the end client’s commercial negotiations with the nominated shipyard in relation to design changes. • Lead and/or participate in design review discussions with various stakeholders, including equipment/technology suppliers as appropriate in support of the plan review process and acting always in Longitude and our client’s best interests • Stay up-to-date with advancements in gas carrier technologies and best practices for the design, construction, and operation of gas carriers. • The ability and willingness to travel as required, and to be based in Qatar for the duration of the project.
