Job Description
Higher Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or any related engineering discipline. An advanced degree such as a master's in civil engineering may also be beneficial.
Licensure and Certifications: The applicant must have a Certified Engineer license, preferably registered as a Certified Civil Engineer (PE), if this is required in the country or state in which he or she is working.
Knowledge of Regulations and Standards: Good understanding of local and national codes and regulations related to construction and civil engineering, and the ability to apply them correctly to projects.
