Job Description

Join us were an Investors in People Silver Standard Company

We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our Rail and Infrastructure team at Ground Control. This role will work in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders delivering key strategic objectives and innovation to deliver business and environmental project deliverables.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders influencing and negotiating to meet environmental requirements within the Rail and Infrastructure division
  • Supporting the operational team from preconstruction with environmental advice ensuring environmental considerations are seamlessly integrated into the projects
  • Providing expert guidance on environmentaland sustainability issues across our Rail and Infrastructure division
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework related to environmental management

This is a key role for an experienced environmental expert ideally with a strong focus on Rail however we can consider candidates with a range of backgrounds across Construction Highways and Utilities companies.

You will need;

  • Solid knowledge and experience of policy regulations standards metrics and tools relating to biodiversity environmental and sustainability standard as well as some general wildlife legislation across the UK and its application
  • Experience of operating at a senior level leading the biodiversity elements of major projects and delivery of highquality deliverables
  • To be a chartered Environmentalist or membership of an appropriate professional institution or equivalent experience
  • Have experience in customer facing situations related to early customer engagement;
  • Have high attention to detail especially with technical output excellence;
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex projects including commercial resourcing and scheduling activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

This is a hybrid role with plenty of working at home therefore we can be flexible on location however nationwide travel may be required from time to time therefore you must hold full UK driving licence
