Job Description

Hello potential future Oatly employee. Its us the original oatmilk company that started in Sweden back 25 or so years ago and has since expanded to the U.S. where weve continued growing at a rate such that we need more brilliant minds to come work with us to keep the momentum going and the oatmilk flowing.

We are looking for a Director of Internal Communications North America to join our team. This role will be responsible for the internal communications function in Oatlys Americas region and will play a key role in contributing to shaping and supporting internal communications across the global organization.

Qualified candidates must reside in Eastern Standard Time due to business needs.

Here are the things we want to hire you to do:

  • Lead the development and execution of Oatlys internal communications strategy in the Americas region (NA) including by:
    • Leveraging new and existing internal communications channels to inform inspire and engage NA employees around Oatlys mission values and business
    • Managing internal NA communications calendars
    • Planning writing and editing content for Oatlys intranet townhalls newsletters digital signage email Slack and Microsoft Teams including organizing content and presenters for monthly OAT Shows and hosting internal events as needed
    • Crafting key messaging to effectively communicate company values actions and milestones to NA employees
    • Collaborating with the external communications team to align messaging and leverage content for crosschannel and crossaudience use
    • Tracking employee engagement with regional communications channels and content and leveraging data for continuous improvement
  • Support the Global Internal Communications Director in developing and executing Oatlys global internal communications strategy as needed including by:
    • Collaborating on the development of key messaging editorial content and internal events for global audiences
    • Assisting in advising global leadership on internal messaging change management and employee engagement opportunities
    • Measuring the efficacy and impact of global internal communications channels and content and strategizing for continuous improvement
  • Partner with the NA People & Transformation team to build and foster Oatly NAs culture including by:
    • Supporting the planning and execution of key culture and DEI initiatives
    • Supporting in identifying planning and executing key employee engagement opportunities
    • Collaborating to creatively identify ways to effectively connect a broadly distributed fully remote corporate team and geographically dispersed plant teams to Oatly and one another.
  • Act as regional crisis management facilitator for Oatly NA and lead regional internal crisis communications

Here are the things we think you need:

  • 7 years experience in corporate communications with 3 years of specialized experience within internal communications preferred (or an equivalent combination of experience plus a relevant advanced degree in marketing or communications)
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in practical experience
  • 3 years people management experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep expertise in writing and editing with a proven ability to write with specific brand and/or leaders voices in mind
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key internal communications platforms and processes
  • Proven experience crafting compelling business communications for internal audiences with some experience in a remotefirst environment preferred
  • Successful relationshipbuilder with the ability to effectively collaborate across regions time zones functions and seniority levels
  • Proven ability to build trust with senior leaders coach leaders on effective communications and influence key decisionmakers and business stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced rapidly changing environment and successfully manage projects and relationships through ambiguity
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite
  • Some graphics/presentation development skills are a plus

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location internal equity experience education specialty and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific location. Compensation may also include bonus commission or equity as applicable. Our good faith estimate range is $130000 $150000.
