Optical Engineer

Visa Independent

Fulltime Only

Location: Fremont CA (Onsite only )

Requirements:

• Ciena and/or Infinera certifications or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
• Configuration build rollout and testing of new DWDM line systems deployments calibration verification BERT etc.
• Expert working knowledge on DWDM components such as ROADM Mux/Demux Amplifiers Transponders. Channel creation optimization.
• Deployment and commissioning of Optical devices such as Ciena and Infinera in new PoPs and Datacenter builds.
• Solid understanding and configuration experience of Channel builds and crossconnect builds.
• Good knowledge on DWDM testing methods and tools.
• Solid understanding of fiberoptic technology including cable types connector types optic types patch panels and optical transport technologies.
• Experience in Chassis installation line cards install PCRs and structure fiber installation.
• Experience in device installation and testing software/firmware upgrade rebootstrapping and decommission.
• Experience in network optimization (restripes migrations upgrades swaps capacity upgrades). Creating Bill of Materials and JSNs (Job Start Notification) for deployments and upgrades.
• Excellent experience in maintaining documentation and teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills systems and tools and creative problemsolving abilities under pressure.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• CCNA/JNCIA or equivalent knowledge.
