Job Description
Title: Cisco VOIP Engineer
Location: Gettysburg PA
Salary: $60K with benefits
Duration: Direct Hire
The ideal candidate is a US citizen who lives in Gettysburg PA who has 2 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco VOIP systems holds a CCNP has proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) and other Cisco communication platforms
Executive Summary: Seeking a VoIP Network Engineer with 2 years of experience for an onsite role in Gettysburg PA to support our client a Federal Management Consulting firm specializing in strategic business and technology services areas across the federal market.
Responsibilities:
- Design configure and troubleshoot Cisco VOIP systems and related network infrastructure.
- Maintain and optimize performance of the VOIP infrastructure ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate VOIP systems with other network services.
- Manage the installation and configuration of network hardware including routers switches and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and security implementing enhancements as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance on network and VOIP issues to internal teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations processes and procedures.
- Participate in oncall rotation for afterhours support and perform regular system upgrades.
- Train staff on new technologies and assist in the development of training materials.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts protocols (TCP/IP BGP OSPF) and technologies.
- Proficiency in network hardware and software including servers routers switches firewalls etc.
- Detailed understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and LAN/WAN systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
Professional Experience and Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP UDP SIP SCCP) and VOIP technologies.
- Proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) and other Cisco communication platforms.
- Experience with network security practices and network performance tuning.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCVP are highly preferred.
Education and Years of Experience:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
- 02 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco VOIP systems.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP CompTIA Network or equivalent.
Security Clearance: Applicants selected must be eligible to work in the United States be subject to a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to protected information.
