Elixir Developer for Balancedio

Balanced.io is focused on developing inhouse accounting software that meets the specific needs of the Yolo Groups finance team. We work closely with our customers allowing us to receive direct and immediate feedback so we can react swiftly with support and product enhancements. By automating processes and eliminating manual workflows our accounting software acts as a seamless backbone for the Yolo Groups finances.

Challenges:

• Tackling all kinds of Fintech challenges including taxation issues and high transaction volumes
• Staying at the cutting edge of realtime web applications using LiveView
• Maintaining an AWSbased infrastructure with the collaborative effort of every developer

Your daily tasks will be

• Developing delivering and maintaining highly performant responsive and wellstructured software
  
• Monitoring the performance of your deliverables by tracking Lighthouse score loading speed time to the first byte cumulative layout shift etc
  
• Writing automated tests
  
• Deploying to production and taking care of monitoring
  
• Designing services to be highly available and scaling across multiple geographical regions
  
• Working closely with crossfunctional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals
  
• Conducting code reviews and providing feedback to your team members
  
• Work alongside other Engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices to meet our companys technical needs
  
• Continuously improving your stack and paying off technical debt
  

What we expect from you

• Proven experience as a Software Developer for 5 years
• Handson working experience in Elixir/Erlang and Phoenix LiveView
• Standard knowledge of HTML5/CSS3
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL Redis and familiarity with MongoDB
• Knowledge of GraphQL Protobuf RabbitMQ
• Experience in managing AWS Docker and Kubernetes
• Good understanding of testing techniques
• Experience with microservices eventdriven architectures and dataheavy applications
• Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Excellent level of written and verbal English
