Job Responsibilities:
- Organize and update financial records digitally for tax purposes.
- Drive operating efficiencies using XERO MYOB and other accounting and business software systems.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare management accounts.
- Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) Installment Activity Statements (IAS) and client payroll tax reports.
- Maintain detailed and organized tax records and documentation.
- Prepare documentation for tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Ensure proper filing and retrieval of all tax documents.
- Provide mentorship and support and guidance to junior accountants;
- A team player liaising with Senior Manager (Ash) and other 2 Senior Accountants in Team environment.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their financial and tax needs and provide tailored solutions. Ability to handle client queries independently and liaise with clients on ongoing basis with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a relevant field. CPA/CA qualification is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Tax Accountant or similar role adhering to Australian accounting standards.
- Strong knowledge of both basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
- Demonstrable experience in preparing financial statements for companies trusts and partnerships.
- High competence in preparing and finalizing companies trusts partnerships and individual tax returns; experience in SMSF and fringe benefit returns is preferable.
- Outstanding working knowledge of GST BAS IAS and other compliancerelated functions
