Job Description
Red Ember recruitment is looking for a Data Analyst for our client based in Modderfontein. This will also be hybrid being expected at the office only certain days and other days candidate can work from home proper internet at home is required with quiet workspace.
Expectations for the Data Analyst Role
The individual will be expected to be able to work with data sets from different data sources. This means that they must be able to extract data from various data sources and collate this information for consumption by various stakeholders within the business. The individual also needs to assist the business with deriving actionable insights that will drive operational efficiencies.
The analyst will interact with various internal and external stakeholders; and thus is required to have the ability to gather requirements from business and translate them into:
- Reports
- Dashboards
Roles and Responsibilities
- The analyst is responsible for processing operational data using analytical tools excel MS SQL and Power BI to derive operational efficiencies and operational insights to assist the business in making better decisions.
- The role has daily weekly and monthly reporting responsibilities in Excel. There may be instances where the analyst must prepare reports with very limited time available.
- There are many requests to perform data extraction exercises to support any requests from business. Our client is very invested in solving business problems using datadriven solutions.
- Aligning backend data inputs especially Master Data to business rules.
- Use specialist analytical tools to model data into KPI Reports and Dashboards in Excel and Power BI.
- Provide support to data integrity projects and assist with implementing or facilitating policies and procedures relating to data governance.
- Translate internal briefs into analytical projects including refining the initial brief and asking the right questions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
Work Experience
- Up to 3 years experience as a Data Analyst or equivalent
- Important experience in Think Cell
- Power Point advance presentations
- Solid knowledge of SQL and exposure
- Exposure to Power BI or Qlikview or Qliksense
- Exposure or understanding of MS Access
- Exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI
- Must be comfortable working with MS Excel
Requirements
Must have at least one of the following qualifications a BSc in:
- Statistics
- Mathematical Sciences
- Or any other relevant qualifications including certifications
