Job Description
This is a remote position.
SAP Functional Lead Localization/ Tax for LATAM Markets
Our client a renowned pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Lead specializing in localization and tax for LATAM markets with a strong focus on Brazil localization and proficiency in the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in integrating various tax tools with SAP S/4HANA and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. This role is critical for managing localization projects and supporting the efficient operation of SAP systems tailored to the specific needs of LATAM countries.

Lisbon Portugal.
Role Type
6 Months contract with likelihood of renewal.
Remote/InOffice Policy
100% Remote might need minimal travel if needs be.
Responsibilities.
- Configure and maintain SAP systems to comply with Brazil s tax and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate tax determination and calculation including VAT withholding taxes and other indirect taxes specific to Brazil.
- Customize SAP functionalities to meet the unique needs of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GxP (Good Practice) guidelines.
- Oversee the integration of tax tools with SAP S/4HANA ensuring seamless operation.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of localization configurations to ensure system integrity and compliance.
- Lead localization projects from inception to completion coordinating with crossfunctional and global teams.
- Manage project timelines budgets and resources to deliver successful outcomes.
- Develop detailed documentation for localization and tax processes.
- Train local and global teams on the specific requirements and functionalities of the SAP system.
Requirements
Requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA specifically in the FI (Financial Accounting) and SD (Sales and Distribution) modules.
- Experience with SAP localization tools such as SAP Localization Hub and SAP Tax Service.
- Deep understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements in Brazil and other LATAM countries.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations and standards.
- Experience with integrating SAP with various tax tools such as Vertex Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Sovos and Avalara etc.
- Strong understanding of API integration and data exchange processes.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects managing multiple stakeholders and delivering on time and within budget.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with global and local teams.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese;
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP certifications particularly in financial and localization modules.
- Prior experience in SAP implementations within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Adaptability to stay updated with evolving tax laws and regulations in LATAM countries especially Brazil.
