Job Description

Title: Technical Writer
Duration: 24Jun2024 to 20Dec2024
Location: Paramus NJ
The Challenge:
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear and concise documentation for technical products or processes. This includes user manuals instruction guides and online help systems. The role involves working closely with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy aiming to provide users with understandable and accessible documentation to effectively use and troubleshoot technical products.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Document Creation: Create user manuals installation guides technical specifications and other documentation to support the use and understanding of technical products and processes.
  • Content Development: Research gather and organize information from subject matter experts to create accurate and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Document Review and Editing: Review and edit technical documents for clarity accuracy and consistency including grammar spelling and formatting checks.
  • Document Maintenance: Update and revise existing documentation to reflect changes in products processes or industry standards ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams including developers engineers and product managers to gather information and ensure documentation meets the target audiences needs.
  • Document Accessibility: Ensure technical documentation is easily accessible to users by organizing and maintaining a centralized repository or knowledge base.
  • Documentation Standards: Follow established documentation standards and style guides to maintain consistency and ensure a unified voice across all technical documentation.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in technical writing or a related field.
Experience:
  • Strong writing skills with excellent written communication.
  • Solid understanding of technical concepts with the ability to quickly grasp and explain technical information.
  • Skilled in conducting research and gathering information from subject matter experts.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy consistency and adherence to style guidelines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Userfocused mindset with an understanding of the target audiences needs.
  • Effective time management to meet project deadlines and deliver documentation on time.
