Software Engineer

This role will report to the Tech Lead and work closely within a multi disciplinedagile scrum team. The voice teams goal is to build world class voice products thatempower retail associates with intuitive instore communication. You will bedeveloping services written primarily in Javascript and Typescript in order tosupport our onpremises DECT devices located in customers stores.

Requirements for Software Engineer

The following are highly desirable but we do not expect you to have them all:

• At least 2 years experience of Node.js
• Experience working in a CI environment with high levels of test automation
• Experience of containerbased development
• Experience in eventbased systems
• Experience collaboratively breaking down problems and designing solutions as part of a team
• Basic understanding of Microservice and Monolith patterns
• Analytical problem solving skills
• Experience of the GNU/Linux operating system
  
  Nice to have skills
• Experience with Azure cloud services
• Experience building IVR systems even as a personal project
• Experience working with IoT hardware even as a personal project
• Experience writing or reviewing ADRs
• Basic understanding of MQTT

Responsibilities as Software Engineer

• Working as part of a team to design and implement robust and scalable
  container based voice services
• Improving existing code with iterative improvements
• Peer reviewing your colleagues work
• Breaking down and estimating work as part of our sprint planning
• Contributing to the execution of our datadriven decision making processes
  
• Researching new solutions
