Job Description

We are looking for an experienced mechanic for a local 18 wheeler delivery company. This position will be a lead mechanic and shop supervisor. Candidate will need to have experience with 18 wheeler truck maintenance as well as be able to supervise a small mechanics team.

Requirements

Strong and continuous focus on safety

Participate in morning safety meetings by discussing your daily task previous days achievements/ challenges and any status of ongoing projects

Actively troubleshoot any issues with equipment trucks and vehicles that failed a pre trip or post trip inspection. Coordinate with the operators drivers and staff to identify and fix all problems

Routinely plan and schedule regular maintenance on all equipment and notify Operators of upcoming services

Routinely plan and schedule regular maintenance on all 18 wheeler Trucks

Log and record any maintenance or repairs made on equipment and trucks while ensuring that all logs are kept current

Actively participate in end of day meetings to discuss that days achievements and challenges and as well as what to expect on the following day while documenting tasks and projects on the white board in the meeting room

Continuous collaboration with management to address equipment and process challenges
