Senior Scientist Oligonucleotide Delivery

Axiomer could potentially yield a new class of innovative medicines and treat currently untreatable diseases.

Our Axiomer Unit is currently looking for a (Senior) Scientist Organic Chemistry (Fulltime) to join our team.
Growing interest in the application and development of our platforms based on nucleic acidbased modulation of RNA as approaches to treat diseases allows us to expand our team involved. Our proprietary and versatile Axiomer and Trident^TM platforms harness the power of recruiting endogenously expressed enzymes to make precise adeninetoinosine (AtoI) or uridinetopseudouridine mutations in RNA through the use of specifically designed synthetic guide RNAs. These platforms add exciting new approaches with enormous potential as a research tool and therapeutic use in a wide range of disease areas.

As a member of our EON Design and In Silico team you will assist in directing efforts to enhance the delivery of our molecules in all aspects ranging from awareness of the state of the art and generating new concepts to the handson synthesis of required test items among which oligonucleotideligand conjugates. As such you will work closely with our biologydriven teams and inhouse CMC department.

Location: Leiden NL (onsite)

We expect our (Sr.) Scientist to have:

• A PhD degree in organic chemistry or a related field demonstrating experience in the design and execution of organic chemical synthesis projects. Postdoctoral working experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry or in a relevant academic research field is a plus
• Working experience with and understanding of the concept of targeted delivery/uptake of therapeutic molecules
• Working experience or strong affinity with oligonucleotide chemistry industrial/academic collaborations therapeutics and/or molecular biology is a plus

We expect this function to consist of both handson laboratory work (2050%) and project management (5080%).
