Head of Software Engineering

Our client is hiring a Head of Engineering who will collaborate directly with the CEO overseeing our engineering team and activities to achieve business goals. This role requires a strategic leader with robust technical expertise fluent in English and Mandarin and adept at managing crossfunctional teams in a dynamic startup environment.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:** Lead and inspire our engineering team fostering innovation and collaboration.
Technical Strategy & Execution:** Drive the technical strategy aligned with business goals ensuring scalable and reliable solutions.
Project Management:** Manage multiple engineering projects using Agile methodologies to optimize efficiency.
Collaboration & Communication:** Align engineering efforts with business objectives communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Process Improvement:** Enhance engineering productivity and quality through process enhancements and best practices.
Innovation & Technology:** Drive innovation within the team by staying updated on emerging technologies and trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
5 years in senior engineering leadership ideally in consumerfacing startups.
Strong backend development expertise with proficiency in relevant technologies.
Experience managing geographically distributed teams and delivering complex projects.
Fluent in English and Mandarin with excellent problemsolving and communication skills passionate about technology and enhancing the shopping experience.

Extra Points:

Experience in recommendation systems Python Django and AWS.
Fullstack development experience and ecommerce platform background.
Familiarity with data mining BI and AI concepts.
