We are seeking a Payroll Accountant Assistant to join our team in Woodland Hills CA. This role involves supporting the Payroll & Human Resource Accountant in managing employee benefits compensation evaluations disciplinary actions and overall employee relations within specific sections of a department project or division. Responsibilities include:
- Processing weekly or biweekly payrolls ensuring compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Managing accurate and timely processing of new hires temporary workers transfers promotions and terminations.
- Preparing and auditing W4s payroll balance sheets YTD earnings and other related documents.
- Updating systems to reflect current employee data such as wages benefits and leave time.
- Generating management reports on payroll hours worked vacation accrual tax and benefits deductions etc.
- Coordinating payroll and insurance audits tax audits and other necessary audits.
- Handling weekly payroll tax payments to State and Federal authorities.
- Preparing quarterly and yearly payroll tax filings.
- Reconciling bank accounts related to payroll transactions.
- Managing employee benefits programs by assessing needs recommending programs processing claims and conducting educational sessions.
- Ensuring compliance with human resource federal and state regulations maintaining records accordingly.
- Updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Designing and maintaining a filing system for historical human resource records.
- Counseling and disciplining employees as needed monitoring job performance and assisting in resolving employee relations issues.
- Administering benefits programs including insurance pension plans vacation sick leave and employee assistance.
- Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
