Job Description

Location: Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Type of hiring: Contract

Key Objectives:

The Senior Interface Engineer will manage and coordinate activities for both Offshore Facilities and the Onshore Gas Plant (OGP) project from the EPC tendering phase through to the completion of EPC execution. This includes detailed engineering design procurement construction precommissioning and commissioning.

The role involves interfacing and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers contractors and adjacent plants to ensure project delivery aligns with the companys technical requirements schedule and budget. Responsibilities include monitoring potential interface issues throughout project execution proposing and implementing practical solutions and providing regular reports and analysis on contractor performance concerning interface matters.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • The Senior Interface Engineer will oversee the projects interface across all engineering phases including detailed engineering procurement construction precommissioning commissioning startup and performance testing of Offshore Facilities and the Onshore Gas Plant (OGP).
  • Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Acting as the project focal point for coordination of interface points between the project team and external parties.
  • Ensuring effective coordination of interfaces between offshore facilities and OGP Outside Battery Limit facilities with the project team and external entities such as nearby plants.
  • Ensuring timely alignment of design information exchange between the two project teams.
  • Facilitating meetings workshops and coordination efforts between the client project team government authorities contractors nearby plants and other stakeholders.
  • Assisting in providing solutions and justifications for project interface issues.
  • Participating in and contributing to project technical reviews such as risk assessments HAZID and HAZOP.
  • Identifying the need for and ensuring the implementation of appropriate reviews and audits to support assurance of interface management performance.
  • Providing interface support during the engineering procurement logistics construction precommissioning and commissioning phases to project engineers.
  • Monitoring and expeditiously resolving any project interface issues that arise at job sites to ensure smooth construction completion.
  • Assisting the Onshore & Offshore Interface Team Leaders and Project Engineers with general interfacerelated matters as required.
  • Contributing to and inputting into Interface Reports (weekly monthly quarterly) supporting the generation of critical interface lists (weekly monthly quarterly) from the Interface Management System (IMS) and providing general support to the Project Interface Team (with training provided).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry with at least 4 years of proven project engineering experience.
  • Experience in FEED/EPC for offshore and/or onshore facilities.
  • Experience in interface management and stakeholder management including with assets JV partners government authorities etc.
  • Experience executing projects in the Sarawak area is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards commonly accepted in the oil and gas industry including related local regulations for offshore and onshore facilities.
  • A thorough understanding of the risks and technical/commercial issues associated with the development of oil and gas projects.
  • A proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Excellent communication coordination and organisational skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively with other team members within and outside the department.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills integrity and problemsolving abilities in complex project and business environments.
