Job Description

Job Title: Residential Coordinator
Location: Oneonta Alabama
Employment Type: Fulltime

About Us: The Arc of Central Alabama is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our mission is to provide comprehensive support and services that help individuals live their most independent and fulfilling lives. We offer a variety of programs including residential support day programs employment assistance early intervention and behavior management.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Residential Coordinator to join our team. The Residential Coordinator will provide guidance and direction to Group Home Managers and direct care staff to ensure compliance with work plans and home procedures. This role involves delivering highquality human services training staff participating in the development of PersonCentered Plans and advocating for the needs of individuals served.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guidance and Direction: Provide guidance and direction to Group Home Managers and direct care staff to ensure compliance with work plans and home procedures.
  • Quality Services: Ensure the delivery of quality human service programs for individuals served by the organization.
  • Responsiveness: Be responsive to the needs of individuals served within the home.
  • Training: Provide inservice training and ongoing training for employees.
  • Plan Development: Participate in the development of PersonCentered Plans.
  • Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for individuals served.
  • Support: Assist the Director of Residential Services with overall efficiency in the management of the homes within the unit.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a Human Services related field required.
  • Experience: Experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) required.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Requirements: Valid Alabama drivers license and ability to be insured by the agencys insurer. Must be able to pass preemployment screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing walking hand dexterity reaching with hands and arms climbing or balancing stooping kneeling crouching crawling and speaking and listening both near and long distances.
  • Must have vision abilities including close vision distance vision color vision and depth perception.
  • Occasional sitting required.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.

Schedule:

  • 8hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed
