Job Description
Job Title: Data Architect
Location: Reston/McLean VA (Hybrid 3 days a week in the office)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team in Reston/McLean VA. This is a hybrid role requiring presence in the office three days a week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture data management and data integration to help design and implement scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture Design:
- Design develop and implement robust data architecture solutions that support the organizations strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain data models schemas metadata data dictionaries and other artifacts.
- Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise standards and best practices.
Data Management and Governance:
- Establish and enforce data management and governance policies and standards.
- Ensure data quality integrity security and privacy across the data lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance frameworks and processes.
Data Integration:
- Design and implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from multiple sources.
- Develop ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
- Work with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and workflows.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team.
- Stay uptodate with the latest industry trends and technologies in data architecture and management.
- Mentor and coach junior team members on best practices and technical skills.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including business analysts software engineers and product managers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders effectively.
- Participate in project planning status meetings and provide regular updates on project progress.
Client Facing:
- The person should be able to work with enterprise architect and is well versed with Data migration architecture to cloud.
Technical Chops:
- Relational DB Data pipelines work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- 7 years of experience in data architecture data management and data integration.
- Overall 12 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling database design and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies such as Informatica Talend or Apache Nifi.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle SQL Server MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop Spark and Kafka is a plus.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data governance and data quality tools.
- Understanding of machine learning and data analytics.
- Certification in data management or data architecture (e.g. CDMP TOGAF)
