Job Description

Position Name: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Location: Vernon TX 76384

Payrate: $70/hr.

Shift: Day

Duration: Full time

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: 8AM5PM for 40 hours/week

Requesting APRN to begin immediately.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the medical care of the clients with a unit having 3075 clients.
  • See approximately 515 patients per day for acute illness injury or followup.
  • Available for new admissions which have to be completed within 24 hours of admission
  • Perform clinics in the morning

Job Requirements for all candidates:

  • Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements
  • Must submit to HHSC required drug test
  • Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting
  • Must complete facility and HHSC required training
  • Must be able to pass (TIPS) Treatment Intervention and Protection Strategies
  • Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically Joint Commission guidelines CMS Standards NTSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards Rules and Directives.

Prefer experience treating those with mental health and/or developmental disabilities.

License Certification or Registration required: (All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Facility)

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • The Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (RN FNPBC) is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and authorized to practice as an advance practice registered nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • All Practitioners must have a current unrestricted license in Texas to practice in their respective profession.
  • Must have current registration certificates from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Texas Department of Public Safety Controlled Substance Board
  • Must possess a National Provider Identified (NPI#) as defined by Medicare Part B.
  • Copies of CPR certifications must be kept on file with DSSLCs Contracting office.
  • All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the North Texas State Hospital

Requested Schedule:

Will typically work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (MonFri) but shift pattern is subject to change as determined by the Director to meet needs of the hospital.
