Job Description

Overview:

As a Career Counselor at an ICSE/ISC School you play a pivotal role in guiding students toward successful career paths and academic pursuits. You will provide personalized guidance and support to help students explore career options set academic goals and make informed decisions about their future. Your expertise will contribute to shaping the professional trajectories of the students ensuring their academic and career success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct oneonone career counseling sessions with students to assess their strengths interests and goals
  • Administer and interpret career interest and aptitude assessments
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive career resource library for students and parents
  • Organize career fairs workshops and seminars to expose students to various career paths
  • Create individualized academic and career plans for students based on their aspirations and abilities
  • Provide information on college admissions scholarships and financial aid opportunities
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate career exploration into the curriculum
  • Stay updated on current trends in higher education and the job market
  • Offer support for students facing academic or personal challenges
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of career counseling programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers colleges and industry professionals for student placement and internships
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical practices in counseling sessions
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills
  • Provide guidance on career transitions and postgraduation opportunities
  • Collaborate with parents to support their childrens career development

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Counseling Psychology Education or related field
  • Proven experience as a career counselor in an ICSE/ISC school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the ICSE/ISC curriculum and career pathways
  • Certification in career counseling or guidance
  • Ability to assess and interpret career assessments and psychometric tools
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Empathy and ability to relate to students of varying backgrounds and aspirations
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Problemsolving skills to address individual student needs effectively
  • Adaptability to the changing landscape of careers and education
  • Understanding of college admissions procedures and scholarship opportunities
  • Familiarity with online career resources and research tools
  • Ethical and confidential handling of student information
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators parents and external stakeholders
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of career counseling
