Job Description

A pioneer news media house covering news & events from the cryptocurrency industry and blockchain technology is searching for a Chief Editor to oversee the development of all material for the website. You must have the capacity to lead a team, exercise sound judgment, have excellent writing abilities, and pay close attention to detail in order to be successful as our Editor.

Responsibilities:

Content Review and Editing:

  • Review, edit, and proofread written content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style adherence.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging throughout all written materials.
  • Collaborate with writers to enhance the overall quality and impact of content.

Style Guide Adherence:

  • Familiarize yourself with and enforce adherence to the organization's style guide.
  • Stay updated on industry-specific style trends and standards.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with writers, content creators, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve their skills and ensure consistency.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct thorough quality control checks to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
  • Ensure that content meets the highest standards of excellence and aligns with organizational goals.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate editorial efforts and resolve any content-related issues.

Research and Fact-Checking:

  • Conduct necessary research to verify facts and information presented in written materials.
  • Ensure that all content is accurate, credible, and aligns with the organization's values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an editor with a strong portfolio of edited content.
  • Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using editing tools and software.
