Job Description

LEGAL ASSISTANT (Temporary)
Our client an established local law firm is seeking a temporary Legal Assistant to cover maternity leave through December 2024.


Responsibilities:

  • Support 23 attorneys on a daily basis to ensure the smooth operations of the firm
  • Act as the initial point of contact with clients both over the phone and via email
  • Draft correspondence via Outlook answering client questions in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with new clients to ensure they have a thorough understanding of the firm s legal processes
  • Add new clients to case management system ensuring all information is accurate and uptodate
  • Complete and file documents with NYS Workers Comp Board
  • Take clear & concise notes ensuring they are input into the case management system under the appropriate case
  • Determine which tasks take priority over the others and ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team collaborating with one another to create an efficient work environment
  • Transition from working on one case to another with ease
  • Complete special projects in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary


Details:

  • Position is full time temporary
  • 100% inoffice MF 9:00AM 5:00PM
  • $22.00 $28.00/hour depending on experience
  • 1 years experience in a legal or administrative support role
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Selfmotivated
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Relocation not available
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available
