Job Description

Mobile Health Team Inc. a staffing agency has openings for a permanent fulltime Ultrasound Technologist II. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Fayetteville NC 28304

Assignment Start Date: 6/11/2024

Shift: Days Full Time

Salary: $64000.00 to $110000.00

** All radiology positions offer a $10000 Signon Bonus and Relocation assistance. Bonus payout $20006 Month payout $300012Month Payout $500024 Month Payout ** Relocation Assistance will be paid in the first paycheck.

The Ultrasound Technologist performs medical sonograms exercises professional judgment in performance procedures and provides safe patient care. The Ultrasound Technologist II is fully competent to perform all diagnostic procedures for the Diagnosis of specific diseases or conditions

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of the job. The incumbent may perform other duties both major and minor that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.

  • Responsible to the Ultrasound Supervisor or Radiology Manager
  • Fully competent to perform all procedures within the Ultrasound Section of the Radiology Department
  • Fully competent in the technical operations of all equipment in this section.
  • Assess the patient and review the orders/ chart as appropriate confirming the reason for the exam. Ensures pertinent patient symptoms and clinical history are documented and a signed consent form is present if needed.
  • Prepares the patient for the procedure answers any patients questions and effectively communicates with the supervising radiologist for special instructions and/or questions regarding exam protocol.
  • Responsible for the prompt completion and accurate recording of exam begin and end time in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to study by the radiologist.
  • Provides a safe environment to include but not limited to infection control guidelines universal precautions and patient safety goals.
  • Monitors the timeliness of exams and quality of care based on established department goals striving for continuous quality improvement. Performs QA of exams (correct order accurate/complete image annotation correct laterality) before sending to a radiologist for interpretation.
  • Actively participates in the clinical education of student sonographers.
  • Actively participates in the departments Performance Improvement Projects.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • 3 years of minimal experience is required.

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an AMAapproved Sonography program

Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:

  • Must have current registration by ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
  • Must hold ARDMS certification in two different areas.
  • Must maintain current AHA CPR certification through the hospital Training and Development Department program

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates technical skills and expertise in performing diagnostic and vascular sonography.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills. Verbal and written skills required.
  • Demonstrates compassionate patient care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and understands the range of treatment needed for all age groups.
  • Provides care based on the patients developmental needs.
  • Experienced in the delivery of effective patient care and interacts effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Must be able to communicate orally.
  • Must have dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Must have mobility to assume awkward positions.
  • Must have mobility to respond to emergencies.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to bend and have the ability to lift 100 lbs/carry objects up to 50 lbs. Position may involve skin eye or mucous membrane contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.
