Job Description

The Corporate Policy Officer will develop and implement corporate policies in Safeguarding Safety & Security and Transparency & Anti. Working closely with National/Country Directors and the Safeguarding Team in Vienna the role ensures these policies are globally adopted and managed effectively. Responsibilities include incident management substituting for the Safeguarding Officer and supporting donor reporting and due diligence.

Tasks

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Lead the creation and global rollout of policies on Safeguarding Safety & Security and Transparency & Anti.
  • Collaborate with Vienna and national teams to integrate and adapt policies locally.
  • Enhance prevention and sensitization measures through training and communication.
  • Monitor compliance and disseminate policy information internally.
  • Support organizational learning and ensure proper documentation.
  • Act as the main contact for Safety & Security Transparency & Anti in Europe and mentor the global safeguarding team.

Case/Incident Management:

  • Oversee and support incident management providing technical advice and preparing response reports.
  • Ensure transparent standard operating procedures for incident management.
  • Maintain compliance with external and internal reporting standards.
  • Create an incident management report covering all organizational incidents and lessons learned.

Networking and Relationship Management:

  • Monitor international trends and engage with NGOs and experts.
  • Build a network of contacts and act as the primary contact for policy information requests.

Budgeting and Support:

  • Assist in developing the budget and updating forecasts.
  • Substitute for the Safeguarding Officer as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in policy development and implementation in relevant areas.
  • Strong understanding of international standards and trends.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Experience in case/incident management and reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate across countries and manage sensitive situations.
