Non-Code Welder

Requirements

Welding of carbon steel plate or stainless steel if qualified under prescribed conditions

Recognize weld defects through visual inspection of welds and rework when necessary

Grind and clean weld area where required

Work with grinders as required

Read and understand engineering blueprints drawings and welding symbols

Have knowledge of company welding procedures and processes

Follow all safety policies and procedures

Perform other related duties as required by Supervisors

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to communicate verbally and in writing Must be capable of following verbal and/or written instructions Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance Must be capable of large amounts of walking, bending, stooping, squatting Capable of working from ladders, scaffolding, or in close quarters Must be able to work in hazardous conditions safely Must be able to read and comprehend various measuring devices Must have knowledge and experience with electrical systems Must have general knowledge of air and hydraulic systems Must be able to prioritize tasks and respond on short notice to situations that arise Must have a good understanding of and follow OSHA and EPA standards
