This section includes the responsibilities and key activities that the Project Manager is either accountable for or responsible to execute.
Professional requirements
Experience with Project management methodologies
Experience of leading virtual teams especially in global context
Lean and Agile ways of working
Strong Communication skills
Understanding of financial aspects of managing projects and product initiatives
Experience in working with external suppliers and partners in complex engineering context
Entrylevel requirements
BE/BTech or MCA or similar
Senior PM: min. 5 years of experience in managing projects
Basic understanding of Telecommunication technology PSTN 2G 3G 4G
Good to have understanding of Session Initiation Protocol SIP and IP telephony /
Telecommunication Networking projects
Basic understanding of latest cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
Studies in project management methodology certification is an advantage
Studies in product development is an advantage
Responsibilities and key activities
Project scope and targets
Accountable and responsible for clarifying targets and scope of the project
Accountable for clarifying requirements including product cost levels and quality targets
Accountable and responsible to ensure that targeted customer and business value are understood by the project members (Business value defined by Prod mgmt.)
Accountable for making feasible budget proposals to achieve the targets set for the project.
Project ramp up
Responsible for deciding and following the execution methodology for the project.
Where applicable promote Lean and agile ways of working such as backlogs project demos and aligns the project methodologies accordingly.
Responsible for setting up a project team or identify agile teams contributing to the project.
Responsible for identifying the extended team from outside KTI as applicable
Responsible for managing resources and allocated efforts to achieve the project targets
Accountable for compliance to project governance and reporting processes.
Construct effective communication and action planning together with project team
Accountable and responsible for establishing maintaining and executing a project master plan
Project execution
Responsible for Leading and managing and/or coordinating crossfunctional team or team of teams to achieve project targets within the constraints
Responsible for tracking and ensuring quality levels against the targets. Take necessary corrective actions when needed.
Accountable and responsible for balancing between allocated resources and needs of the project and making the decisions together with stakeholders.
Accountable for managing the interfaces with all key stakeholders both in KONE and outside KONE during the project (e.g. Stakeholders partners suppliers)
Accountable for Identifying and managing risks at the project level and plan
Mitigation contingency planning and potential recovery actions working with other stakeholders
Responsible for following the impediments in the project resolve them of if needed escalate them in time
Responsible for ensuring that Safety practices are followed by all the project stakeholders during the execution
Performance measures
Delay in milestones / increments
Project cycle time e.g. time taken from requirements freeze to production
Product quality targets vs. actual achieved at the end of the project
Product cost targets vs. actual achieved at the end of the project
Project status reporting impact and driving it end to end for successful delivery
Ability to clearly communicate regular status to stakeholders with all dependencies and represent the project in different forums or committees
