Overview:
The CT Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting as they are responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce crosssectional images of patients internal organs and tissues. They work closely with physicians to assist in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain CT equipment to ensure highquality images
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans
- Monitor patients during scans and ensure their safety and comfort
- Follow protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
- Assist radiologists in the interpretation of CT images
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Adhere to safety and quality control standards
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
- Ensure proper functioning of equipment through regular maintenance and troubleshooting
- Stay updated on advancements in CT technology and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Certification in CT imaging from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as a CT Technologist
- Proficiency in radiology equipment operation
- Knowledge of radiation safety measures and protocols
- Strong understanding of anatomy and medical imaging techniques
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced highpressure environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Uptodate knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices in CT imaging
