Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Location: HealthMend Solutions

Compensation: $23 $33 per hour

Job Description

HealthMend Solutions is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team. Our PSWs play a crucial role in supporting clients with their activities of daily living ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in their homes or in community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care Assistance: Help clients with rising and retiring dressing and undressing personal grooming and hygiene.

Mobility Support: Assist with positioning transferring and portering of clients.

Meal Preparation: Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.

Health Monitoring: Continually assess and respond to the changing needs of clients and communicate with healthcare team members.

Delegated Tasks: Perform tasks as assigned by a Home Support Supervisor under their supervision.

Travel:Travel within the assigned region between clients residences or facilities.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory: Completed Personal Support Worker certificate.

Experience: 1yrs or more Related work experience within the community or with adults with physical disabilities is an asset.

Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job including standing bending walking crouching kneeling reaching freely lifting up to 23 kg independently and repositioning clients in bed.

Flexibility: Available to work nontraditional hours including early mornings evenings weekends and holidays. Willingness to work out of town and in different homes and shifts.

Transportation: Must have access to own transportation.

Additional Requirements:

Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR

Valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check

Updated TB Test (last 12 months)

COVID19 vaccination (2 doses) is mandatory

Proven experience as a registered nurse. Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures. Excellent knowledge of emergency care. In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times. A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsible and compassionate. Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills. Patient with excellent problem-solving skills. B.Sc or other diploma from a nursing program. A valid nursing license.
