Lead PHP Developer

We are looking for a Lead PHP Developer who writes clean PHP code to a high standard in a timely and scalable way that improves the codebase of our products in meaningful ways. We need someone who is a fan of Vanilla PHP and must feel confident with it. At the same time you will need to be willing to get your hands dirty with coding as you enhance your leadership skills and attitude and grow into a Head of Engineering!

Tasks

• Lead the development of complex web applications using PHP and related technologies. This involves writing clean efficient and maintainable code.
• Architect and design scalable solutions that meet the project requirements and adhere to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications as well as in new development.
• Identify root causes and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including product managers and other developers to understand requirements define technical solutions and deliver highquality software.
• Optimise application performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks improving code efficiency and implementing caching mechanisms.
• Utilise version control systems (e.g. Git) for code management and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Deploy applications to various environments (development staging production) following best practices.
• Collaborate well with the Development Team and Product Owners/Product Managers
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle

• Qualifications/Experience:

• BSc Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Relevant Software Related Qualification

• 7 years relevant experience in a similar role

• Advanced knowledge of PHP language and excellent problemsolving skills

• Solid experience in MySQL Sass Git REST

• Design code and maintain applications using best practices

• Troubleshoot test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality

• Skills/Attributes:

• Excellent communication skills to both understand the needs of the project but also give feedback to stakeholders and input to other team members

• Solid troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment

• Knowledge and experience with one or more development methodologies

• Extensive knowledge of software development and its technologies

• Must work well within an agile software development environment

• Ability to work with an international team with international customers in different time zones

• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness efficiency and ease

• Possess proficient analytical and decisionmaking skills.
