Job Description

Job Title: Infra Operation Service Lead

Location: Petty France or Staines Office with flexibility as per shift requirements

Introduction:
Scrumconnect Consulting is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer to take on the role of Infra Operation Service Lead. This position requires a handson leader with a strong passion for troubleshooting reverse engineering and automating live service operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux Kubernetes networking databases queues Azure Cloud and scripting automation.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary escalation point for live incidents ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption.
Proactively identify troubleshoot and resolve issues in live environments.
Lead and manage live incident meetings including triage and decisionmaking processes.
Review and assess the impact of live change requests from a platform perspective.
Design and develop solutions to automate manual processes within the Live Service environment.
Perform a full range of DevOps tasks establishing and maintaining standards and best practices.
Manage both technical and nontechnical stakeholders effectively ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
Oversee the support rota optimizing team efficiency and coverage.
Provide leadership guidance and mentorship to the team fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements:
Minimum of 12 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
Profound knowledge of Linux Kubernetes Networking Databases and Queues.
Expertise in Azure Cloud and scripting automation.
Solid understanding of DevOps practices Infrastructure as Code and Application CI/CD workflows using tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
A strong grasp of security practices in cloud environments.
Experience managing Javabased microservices platforms running in containers.

Shift Patterns:
3 days a week from 8 AM to 4 PM
2 days a week from 12 PM to 8 PM
Monthly requirement to work a weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) which can be compensated with leave in the following week as per team/project needs.
Biweekly oncall requirement from 4 PM to 11 PM.
Oncall timings from 8 PM to 8 AM with a compensation of 50 for permanent staff.
Mandatory presence in the office (Petty France or Staines) once a fortnight.

What we are looking for: The interview will consist of both behavioural questions which follow the STAR methodology based on your past experience (see interview tips below) as well as detailed technical interview across our main technology stack described below. Must have: - Proven hands on track record experience managing large cloud based infrastructure deployments via IaC on Azure via terraform. - Proven hands on track record experience managing VM deployments on Azure and via Ansible. - Proven hands on track record experience implementing CI / CD pipelines to build, package, deploy, test and promote to higher environments infrastructure as well as applications, preferably via ADO. - Detailed understanding of infrastructure main building blocks and design, how they all fit together and how to manage them via code. That includes Virtual Networks, Routing, DNS, NSGs, Identity Management, Firewall Setup, Security Policies, Secrets and Certificates management. - Experience with configuring SecOps tools, preferably SonarQube, Checkmarx, PMD and using pre commit hooks across git based repositories to support shift left approach on the organisation deliverables. - Ability to resolve complex problems and work collaboratively with multiple technical and non technical teams with different skill sets and backgrounds. - Last but certainly not least: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Nice to have: - Experience with Linux and Windows System administration including OS patching, permissions management, security settings, ssh / RDP enablement, using debugging and tracing tools to triage common problems. - Experience with at least one market leading monitoring tool, understand how it operates, configured and managed.
