Role Overview:

Climate resilience is a critical area of focus especially for India given its vulnerability due to demographic factors. At this crucial juncture for socioeconomic planning its essential to align development goals with climate mitigation targets and enhance climate resilience. The Swades Foundation is dedicated to streamlining its long efforts in this domain. Through various programs our research and capacitybuilding activities aim to generate knowledge and bolster lowcarbon climateresilient planning.

Swades is seeking a Senior Manager for its Climate Program Vertical. In this role you will contribute to strategizing researching and building capacity for organizations lowcarbon development pathways through diverse initiatives. The Senior Manager Climate Vertical will be responsible for developing implementing and managing climaterelated initiatives within Swades Foundations framework. This role will focus on integrating sustainable practices and climate resilience into our rural development programs. You will also help organize multi stakeholder dialogues and workshops with partners from government academia civil society and think tanks. These events will serve as platforms to identify and prioritize programs exchange knowledge and disseminate findings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Development:

   • Design and implement climate action strategies aligned with Swades Foundations mission.

   • Develop and manage climate resilience projects focused on agriculture water management and renewable energy.

2. Program Management:

   • Oversee the execution of climate initiatives ensuring they meet targets and deadlines.

   • Collaborate with other verticals to integrate climate considerations into their programs.

3. Research and Analysis:

   • Conduct research on climate change impacts and mitigation strategies relevant to rural communities.

   • Analyze data to measure the effectiveness of climate programs and suggest improvements.

4. Partnership and Collaboration:

   • Build and maintain partnerships with governmental and nongovernmental organizations academia and other stakeholders.

   • Represent Swades Foundation in climaterelated forums and networks.

5. Capacity Building:

   • Conduct training and workshops for staff and community members on climate change and sustainability practices.

   • Develop educational materials and resources to promote climate awareness.

6. Monitoring and Reporting:

   • Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.

   • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Environmental Science Climate Change Sustainable Development or a related field.
• Minimum of 710 years of experience in managing climaterelated projects preferably in a rural development context.
• Strong understanding of climate change issues and sustainable development practices.
  
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex projects.
  
• A strong understanding of the energy and climate landscape in India is highly desired.
  

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

• Effective communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with rural communities.

• Knowledge of climate finance and funding mechanisms.

• Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
