German Language Expert

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate written documents from German to English and vice versa
• Interpret spoken language from German to English and English to German during meetings and conferences
• Conduct language and cultural training for staff members
• Proofread and edit translated materials
• Develop glossaries and maintain translation memory and terminology databases
• Participate in crossfunctional teams to provide language support in various projects
• Keep uptodate with industry trends and incorporate best practices into translation work
• Ensure highquality accurate and timely translations
• Collaborate with other language experts to maintain consistency and accuracy across all languages
• Perform adhoc translation and interpretation tasks as needed
• Support in developing multilingual communication strategies
• Assist in localization initiatives
• Act as a language and cultural liaison between the organization and Germanspeaking clients
• Assist in resolving languagerelated issues as they arise
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of language services

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in German Linguistics Translation or a related field
• Proven fluency in German and English both written and spoken
• 2 years of professional experience in translation interpretation or languagerelated roles
• Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of German culture and traditions
• Proficiency in translation and interpretation tools and software
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changing business needs
• Knowledge of localization and internationalization best practices
• Understanding of business etiquette and language nuances
• Certification in translation or interpretation is a plus
• Experience in a clientfacing role is preferred
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
