Overview
As a Staff Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) department you will play a crucial role in providing immediate medical care to patients with acute injuries or illnesses often in highpressure situations. Your expertise and quick thinking will be essential in stabilizing patients and ensuring they receive the necessary treatment in a timely manner. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess plan and implement patient care making a significant impact on patient outcomes within the ER setting.
Key responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients conditions upon arrival to the ER
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Perform wound care monitor vital signs and assist with pain management
- Operate medical equipment and assist in emergency procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members
- Document patient care accurately and timely
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop and adjust patient care plans
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Participate in disaster preparedness and response efforts
- Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ER department
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in nursing practice
Required qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
- Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Excellent clinical assessment and prioritization skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and unpredictable environment
- Knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and best practices
- Capacity to collaborate with a diverse healthcare team
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

- Understanding of legal and ethical nursing standards
