Job Description
Network Assurance Role
Network assurance team members provide shiftbased surveillance and assurance functions related to transport and IP network elements and their associated data payloads and services.
Years of experience:
Senior 10 to 12 years
Lead 13 years
Shift: 24x7 shift
Mode of Work: Hybrid
Location: Hyderabad
Budget: 1525 LPA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical
Provide trouble analysis (remote testing fault isolation and remediation via the use of logs alarms and operational measurements) across client s transport and IP network elements
Take direction from the appropriate planning & implementation operational teams for efficient application of hardware software firmware product change upgrades and commissioning of network elements & associated services
Complete preventative maintenance routines to maintain & improve overall network reliability
Communications
Collaborate with other team members for trouble resolution
Work with technicians who call in for assistance and/or are acting as hands and feet for assurance onsite
Initiate and/or respond to queries discuss trouble details and confirm resolutions directly with stakeholders and other team members
Explain/discuss details regarding progress issues next steps
Administration
Document and administer/ track maintenance routines for network assurance
Provide information on status maintain logs and update applicable corporate systems
Prepare time and expense reports
RESULTS OR OUTCOMES:
Work is performed within defined time requirements to meet quality standards to ensure network reliability and to meet customer needs
Communication standards are met with stakeholders via the appropriate channels (phone mail chat)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Fully qualified Communication Technician Journey person or equivalent verifiable experience
CNA or CCNP certification or equivalent verifiable experience
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to isolate and resolve troubles in access systems SONET transport technologies EDSX crossconnects OTN CPL CDC PTS RLS/ELS synchronization and other legacy transport systems
Knowledge of transport hierarchies (OTU OCx SONET STSx Tx etc.)
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to isolate and resolve troubles in network protocols (OSPF BGP ISIS segment routing etc.) LAN/MAN/WAN and knowledge of vendor CLIs and GUI products (Nokia / AlcatelLucent Ciena / Nortel Cisco Juniper Fujitsu) and other network elements
Knowledge of automated provisioning network telemetry circuit documenting ticketing testing and dispatch systems
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations take appropriate action implement solutions or escalate as required
Selfmotivated work well with minimal or no direct supervision
Commit to continuous learning. Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply learned skills to related situations and complete and pass all related exams.
Must meet applicable testing requirements
Must be able to understand and effectively perform work in accordance with published work plans processes and procedures
Normal colour vision to work with colourcoded diagrams and tools
Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (such as evenings weekends and statutory holidays)
Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills
Fluent in English both spoken and written; French fluency would be an asset
Ability to effectively handle both favourable and unfavourable customer interactions
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaboratively with other departments
Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fastpaced changing environment
Must meet applicable security clearance requirements
