Overview
The role of MBBS OPD/RMO Consultant is crucial in providing comprehensive medical care to patients within the outpatient department (OPD) and in rendering crucial medical advice to the hospital management. The consultant will act as a key medical professional who provides expert guidance and assists in ensuring the smooth functioning of the outpatient services.
Key responsibilities
- Attend to patients visiting the OPD and provide medical consultations and treatments.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and medical histories of patients as needed.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and follow up with appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the nursing and medical staff to deliver holistic care to patients.
- Monitor and manage the overall functioning of the OPD to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to junior medical staff and interns.
- Participate in continuous medical education and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with medical ethics and legal regulations.
- Participate in hospital rounds and consultations as required.
- Assist in administrative tasks related to the OPD.
Required qualifications
- Hold a valid MBBS degree and be registered with the medical council.
- Proven experience working in an OPD or related outpatient care setting.
- Strong diagnostic and treatment skills in various medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sound knowledge of medical ethics and patient confidentiality laws.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions in highpressure situations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Preferably possess ACLS/BLS certification.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients.
