Job Description

The Mechanization & Automation Specialist OEM plays a crucial role in leading the development and implementation of mechanization and automation solutions in the context of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) operations. This role is essential in driving efficiency productivity and innovation within the manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify mechanization and automation opportunities within OEM operations.
  • Design develop and optimize mechanization and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and costbenefit analyses for proposed mechanization and automation projects.
  • Lead the integration and installation of automation equipment and systems in the manufacturing environment.
  • Provide technical expertise in the selection and configuration of OEMspecific automation solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols in the implementation of automation technologies.
  • Optimize equipment performance through continuous monitoring maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for OEM staff on new automation technologies.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to source OEMspecific mechanization and automation components.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and audits of automation processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in mechanization and automation for OEM applications.
  • Participate in the development of OEMspecific automation strategies and roadmaps.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and practices through automation initiatives.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and documentation on mechanization and automation projects and their impact on OEM operations.
  • Assist with Equipment LRP coordination
  • Coordinate the development deployment and training of the field testing team on equipment software and new technologies.
  • Ensure a strong robust equipment support structure is established and maintained
  • Collaborate and coordinate support efforts across crops in India FT regions
  • Ensure current equipment meets all safety and operational standards; ensure timely delivery and readiness
  • Create and maintain vendor contacts and relationships for all equipment and technology
  • Collaborate and connect with other equipment support team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Automation or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing automation solutions within an OEM environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with and managing an agricultural research machine fleet.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience with research equipment operation and repair
  • Agility to make decisions and deliver results under tight timelines
  • Ability to drive change and implementation of new technologies
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite and other database management tools
  • Ability to demonstrate agility while working effectively in a fastpaced diverse teamoriented environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in the integration of automation equipment and systems particularly in OEM manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with OEMspecific manufacturing processes equipment and technologies.
  • Indepth knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanization and automation in OEM operations.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD software for the design and layout of automation solutions.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with the ability to lead and oversee automation projects from inception to implementation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams external vendors and OEM stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in automation processes.
  • Certifications in automation and robotics technologies are a plus.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application in conjunction with automation initiatives.
  • Experience in conducting training programs and workshops for OEM staff on automation technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining highquality standards in automation implementation.
