Job Description

Head of Continuing Airworthiness (CA) (Part M)


Grade: GG13


Location: Riyadh Saudi Arabia


JOB PURPOSE


The Head of Maintenance is responsible to the Director of Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness (DM&CA) for the governance and Functional support of all Continuing Airworthiness activities undertaken by BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES


The job holder will be responsible for the development of Continuing Airworthiness Regulation activities including the facilitation of reviews and ensuring that M&CA Governance for Continuing Airworthiness activities is establish and maintained for BAES SA.


Job accountabilities include formally discharging the governance across the Continuing Airworthiness & Support organisations.


Ensuring the M&CA capability is developed and deployed efficiently to meet all business demands.


The job holder provide M&CA Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for all Continuing Airworthiness activities to BAES SA and the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF)


Provide M&CA support and domain expertise to BAES SA projects and promote BAES SA M&CA capability within projects.


The job holder will provide Leadership and direction to BAES SA on matters of M&CA as well as support and participate in LCM reviews with particular emphasis on M&CA.


Ensure that Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations qualify for the issuance and continuation of M&CA Approvals.


The job holder will be expected to ensure key roles (Nominated Post Holder) positions in CAMOs are identified within the organisations and that all individuals occupying these roles are SQEP.


Role accountabilities also include ensuring that all M&CA Continuing Airworthiness Mandates and Procedures are updated and representing the leading practices worldwide as well as ensuring the effectiveness of the processes and procedures used in CAMOs .


Act as the principal point of contact for the BAES SA Business Unit for all Continuing Airworthiness related matters.


Ensure that all Approved CAMOs are working within their approved scope of work and develop/ authorise M&CA Maintenance Procedures and Processes to be used by CAMOs.


Job accountabilities also include ensuing that a suitable and appropriate Mandates AMCs and GMs required for Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations are in place.


Provide BAES SA Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations with the Functional support required to establish and maintain compliance with M&CA regulations.


Manage and support contract reviews and ensure communication of any changes into activities as appropriate.


The job holder will be expected to support assurance activities related to M&CA Organisations (Part M 145 & 147) as required.


RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION


A detailed knowledge of the approved maintenance organisations expositions and associated regulations would be essential as well as understanding of Royal Saudi Air Forces in particular the RSAF organisational structure and regulatory frameworks.


Thorough knowledge of BAE Systems business in KSA and knowledge of Airworthiness and certification regulations would also be essential for this role.


A thorough knowledge platform and systems maintenance management activities as well as strong leadership qualities and fortitude with ability to communicate at all organisational levels varying methodologies in an appropriate and clear manner would be a recruitment specification.


The job holder must have the ability to establish dependable relationships with the Customer and partners as well as promote a culture of continuous development and improvement.


Must have demonstrated ability to influence manage & deploy Continuing Airworthiness skill sets.


Knowledge of Airworthiness certification and design engineering would be a key skill in this role as well as understanding of EASA Part 145 and Part M or UK MOD MAOS regulations.


The job holder must be qualified to Engineering Degree level or equivalent aircraft design and certification engineering qualification in a related field.


Extensive practical experience in continuing airworthiness and maintenance of aircraft and aircraft systems; with additional education experience and knowledge of aircraft regulatory policies.


The job holder preferable to have current working experience of the Royal Saudi Air Forces strong technical and interpersonal skills and to have held management position in CAMO or in an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation.


The candidate must have the ability to facilitate mediate and influence in diverse military and civilian cultures as well as having a good knowledge of aviation Continuing Airworthiness processes and quality systems.


The job holder must have audit experience preferably as a Lead Auditor previous experience of delivering a Customer support contract and knowledge of ISOStandards.


Computer literacy is essential: excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Project required.
